The Carrefour International du Bois is a special event for all players involved in the timber industry: sawmillers, importers, merchants, panel manufacturers, parquet & flooring manufacturers, manufacturers of timber products for the building trade… just some of the people attending the show in Nantes, France. The 10th edition will be held on 28, 29 and 30 May 2008. It will be playing host to 506 exhibitors and 10 000 visitors, representing over 60 countries.
A friendly atmosphere and business opportunities
Founded in 1990, the show is organised by professionals for their colleagues and provides the ideal environment for creating new business. The show is the only one of its kind and is focused exclusively on the timber industry, excluding the associated trades. Over the years, it has grown in strength to become the benchmark for timber specialists. This year, the Carrefour International du Bois will also be staging close to 20 meetings and AGMs, including FEBO's AGM (European Timber Trade Association).
Timber Techniques & Solutions - showcasing construction techniques
Faced with the explosion in timber construction in France and Europe, in 2006 the show created a specific area showcasing the timber products and innovations for the construction industry: the Timber Techniques & Solutions Area. In 2008, this area is developing and will be bringing together all semi-converted products (timber frames, I-beams, parquet & flooring, panels, timber construction systems, and so on).
Austria's Hermann Kaufmann, winner of the 2007 Award for International Sustainable Architecture, will be on hand to present his latest creations on Wednesday 28 and Thursday 29 May. The programme includes ecology, sustainability, simplicity, passive and positive energies… Professionals will also find another key name in town - Swiss engineer Konrad Merz.
Nantes - an international hub
A two-hour high-speed train journey from Paris and with flights operated by a number of airlines (direct flights from Shannon, London - Stansted, Madrid, Amsterdam, Dublin, Milan, etc.), Nantes will be the undisputed international capital of the timber trade on 28 – 29 and 30 May 2008.
