The wood-based panels manufacturer Egger started mid of August the wood procurement for the new plant in Radauti/Romania. Egger Romania is seeking to aquire wood from large, mid-size and small wood suppliers located in a range of 300 km from Radauti. In order to create an important stock of wood that will be processed by the new plant, Egger Romania is looking for Romanian sawmills and wood companies to be Eggers’s long-term partners. “It is part of our philosophy as a family owned company to form long-term, stable and reliable relationships that are based on trust”, stated Ioan-Lucian Banciu, Plant Manager Production and Technics EGGER Romania. Egger gives highest priority to sustainable forestry and therefore is seeking to buy certified wood.
For its Romanian plant Egger has a demand of more than one million tons of wood yearly. Generally, the company is seeking all kinds of residues from sawmills ranging from saw dust, wood chips, slab woods and off cuts. Egger is also processing thinning material of all kinds as well as log wood, also in minor qualities.
