Kährs Group, a Swedish wood and resilient flooring manufacturer, will increase hardwood flooring production capacity in the existing production unit in Satulung, Romania. As the company says in a press release, the movement is a part of the ongoing efforts to streamline the production process further within the group, so now parts of the wooden floor range will be produced in Romania.
Kährs Group aims to increase total production capacity as well as to reduce costs by simplifying the product flow.
With the integration of the production in Satulung, Kährs Group also wants to bring improvements in terms of logistics and eliminate internal transports between facilities as well as providing a strategic location near the Central European market and raw materials for production of wood floors. The production of finished hardwood floors in Satulung is estimated to begin at the end of 2015.
Christer Persson, President and CEO Kährs Group, commented:"Kährs Group sees higher demand in its main markets and intends to continue to grow. By implementing this change in our production structure we can further strengthen Nybro’s position as the Group’s development center for wooden floors and thereby reinforce our work in terms of design, innovation and product development."
