In 2016, the Turkish Kastamonu kept on implementing the gradual growth of output in order to reach the planned production capacity at its Russian site in Alabuga, Tatarstan. With the launch of the second MDF production line the site's production capacity grew up to 1 million m3 of the respective goods per year, reports the Russian news portal INFOLine

Thus, in 2016, the production capacity at Kastamonu's Alabuga site increased by almost 50% year-on-year.

Today Kastamonu is the key Turkish investor in the region being the second largest investor (€400 million) among other entities located in the Special Economic Zone Alabuga. Besides MDF, the site manufactures laminated flooring (the planned capacity of the plant is 35 million m2 of laminated flooring per year).

"It's been over 2 years since we launched our woodworking site in Tatarstan, and now we certainly can say that the project is a success. Over the last year we've observed good dynamics on all fronts. In 2017 we plan to continue to gradually reach the planned MDF and laminated flooring production capacities and to sell our goods on more and more markets. We count on further growing our competitiveness and proving ourselves as a globally renowned producer of quality goods," commented Ali Kilic, CEO of Kastamonu's Russian site.
