AlternativtextThe German producer price indices for spruce showed an upward trend almost continuously in November 2020, with one exception: Spruce B sections remained true to their negative course with -0.8% to a level of 71.7 points compared to the previous month. Various other ranges, on the other hand, showed a positive trend. B/C qualities went up by +5.7% to 54.2. And Spruce B continued the rise that began in October 2020 (+3.1% to 69.6). Spruce pulpwood also trended towards the 50-point mark with a somewhat steeper development than between June and October (+1.9% to 47.7).

Compared to the same month last year, spruce pulpwood still lagged behind by 18%. Spruce B was 7% lower.

AlternativtextCompared with other softwood, spruce made the strongest effort in November 2020, followed by Douglas fir and pine. Pine, however, lost less year-on-year. Douglas fir even reached the level of the previous year and has been comparatively stable in price since February.
