According to China Customs, in the first half of 2024, China’s fibreboard exports totaled 1.293 million tonnes, marking a 28% increase compared to the same period in 2023. This growth was primarily driven by rising demand in the three leading export markets: Saudi Arabia, Vietnam, and Mexico.

Saudi Arabia was the largest export destination for China’s fibreboard in the first six months of 2024, with exports rising 94% to 153,000 tonnes, accounting for 12% of total exports. Sales to Vietnam and Mexico grew by 89% and 35%, respectively, to 148,000 tonnes and 130,000 tonnes. Notably, exports to the USA, UAE, Canada, Algeria, and Australia also saw faster growth rates. On the other hand, exports to Nigeria and the UK decreased by 10% and 23%, respectively.
