At the occasion of its 62nd General Assembly and 43rd Parquet Congress held on 14-15 June 2018 in Sorrento, Italy, the European Federation of the Parquet Industry (FEP) announced that Prof Stefano Berti is the laureate of the FEP Award 2018. According to FEP, Prof Berti has made a substantial contribution to the parquet sector from the sustainable management of forests to the most innovative applications of Real Wood products.
This is the fifth time that the FEP Award is presented. FEP strongly believes that the Award is serving to further strengthen the already existing ties between the European parquet producers, paving the way for improved expertise to the benefit of parquet consumers all over Europe.
This year, the FEP’s Board has unanimously voted in favour of Stefano Berti, renowned Italian professor, who is currently working in the National Research & Development Council (CNR) and contributing to the development of wood products. Prof Berti has published 145 articles with a specific bearing on inherent properties and qualities of wood as raw material and genuine wood products. The 2018 FEP Award underlines his appreciated contribution to the parquet industry in Europe.
