În finalul intervenției, dl. Cătălin Tobescu a arătat că industria românească de prelucrare a lemnului, reprezentată prin Asociația Industriei Lemnului – Prolemn, face apel la Comisia Europeană pentru ca: - Industria lemnului să fie pe deplin implicată și consultată atunci când este evaluată și se fac recomandări cu privire la situația sectorului forestier din România. Participarea și consultarea cu operatorii economici sunt esențiale. - Să existe o abordare bazată pe fapte, atunci când vine vorba de silvicultură în România și să fie pe deplin luate în considerare expertiza și informațiile publice disponibile (de exemplu datele IFN, expertiza instituțiilor de cercetare, a universităților, a Institutului Național de Statistică, etc.). - Să existe o evaluare generală și imparțială a situației sectorului forestier din România. - Industria nu poate și nu va comenta asupra potențialelor probleme în gestionarea ariilor protejate din România. Cu toate acestea, industria are un interes major în obținerea certitudinii și fiabilității juridice.
